Advent is here and the frost is all over…
By the very nature of being residents in a brand new housing development, 2017 has been a year of change and transition for me and my family. New job. New town. New home. New schools. Praying for grass…
Highlights for me have been our monthly Community Potluck Dinners. It’s been a joy to get to know so many new neighbours over a meal while our kids race around in the basement! On a slightly larger scale, our Tragically Hip Liturgy on November 26^th was a powerful evening of singing, dancing and celebrating the life and work of Gord Downie, while exploring the theme of COURAGE in our daily lives. Thank you to everybody who has been curious and taken a chance on any of the programming we have offered this year!
If you’re looking for a gentle time of music and reflection, tomorrow evening we will be hosting The Frost is All Over featuring music by Canadian singer/songwriters including Gordon Lightfoot, Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen and Stan Rogers (more information below).
Looking forward to 2018, we hope to reopen our Drop-in for small children and their caregivers (once the tractors finish driving through our backyard!) and grow our Harry Potter group for school aged children. We will also be starting a Contemplation Group: a time of meditation and reflection in a small group setting. If you would be interested learning more about this group, feel free to contact me.
For many of us, this will be the first Holiday Season we celebrate in our new homes. I hope it is a time of peace and light for all of you.
Whatever you celebrate and whomever you’re with, Living Presence Ministry wishes you a heartfelt Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!
